More than five years ago the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners called on Global Vision.s help to overhaul its training and the result has been a complete transformation in the effectiveness and efficiency with which training is delivered to Australia.s 20,000 family doctors.

Our first step was to assess the existing training material and recommend how it could be delivered more effectively. We created eLearning modules and rolled out a Learning Management System. We even created a marketing strategy, a business plan and new corporate styling.
Our objective was to restructure the operation from a not-for-profit conventional training body to a self sustaining online business. It required the full range of Global Vision.s skills to achieve this . instructional design, train-the-trainer, business consultancy, programming, video production and multimedia. It was only because Global Vision has such breadth that the project was possible.
When we started, many doctors had no computer, let alone internet access. It was thought impossible to deliver rich media to the remotest parts of Australia . a task now common as a result of revolutionary approaches pioneered by GVM.
The courses are mainly complex and case-based, although there are many opportunities for multiple-choice questions. Users have 24 hour x 7 day/week access to the interactive teaching materials and references, online tests and discussion forums, plus ongoing tutor and technical support.
In addition to creating content for the site, Global Vision Media has also installed it, customised it heavily to meet client requirements, and provided ongoing support and maintenance.
Today, it is the norm for GPs to be trained continuously online as a direct result of our world class work. Together, GVM and the RACGP built a profitable self sustaining business.
